Ticket to Read® is Voyager's exciting literacy technology component. This Web-based skill-builder invites students to read hundreds of engaging and informative passages and become more fluent, learn more vocabulary words, and comprehend more about the world around them. As they read, they earn tickets for hundreds of virtual prizes to decorate their personal Clubhouses; as they learn phonics skills, they earn tokens which they can trade for virtual toys in their personal Toy Shop.

Ticket to Read® Progress Board

Student Assessment Opportunities, like the oral fluency assessment scores in the reading component, place students at one of 16 levels - students begin reading where they're appropriately challenged. Whether students are at the head of their class or struggling readers, they experience meaningful gains. Additionally, the Phonics component includes a placement assessment that uses 4 entry points to ensure students are placed at the appropriate level for their skills.

Students work independently on fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills (including phonemic awareness and phonics). Timed fluency readings give students instant feedback and goals for improvement. Student progress is also checked at the end of each path in the Phonics component to determine mastery of skills.

High-interest passages on a variety of topics sustain interest. With 30-40 exciting passages at each level, students select titles of greatest interest and progress from level to level at their own pace.
Ticket to Read® Clubhouse

Personal reading space. Students each have their own personal online Clubhouse, decorated with items earned by meeting reading goals and correctly answering comprehension questions. The Reader Leader Board and Clubhouse of the Week are personal recognition bonuses. Students who participate in the Phonics strand have their own personal Toy Shop which they can fill with toys as they successfully navigate through phonics activities.
